Cottage Moods

SUMMER BY THE SEA. SAND, SHELL, STONE, STRAW, FADED TEXTILES, AND A BOLD MIX OF PATTERNS ARE MY KEYWORDS FOR A HARMONIOUS SUMMER SCHEME.

I found these views of mine so inspiring when arranged together, so I grouped them in a sort of colour range. All the photos are from the same summer cottage paired with a “mood board” I have made in my office right now. Obviously, I enjoy yellowish tones in a fresh summer scheme.

At the moment I am working on a summer cottage with a slightly different mood than the one you see above. It will be a lot of work putting it all together as everything is tailored in vintage textiles and the furniture is found secondhand and will maybe painted or may re-upholstered, or both. I will show you in a little while, however, for now, I hope you got some summer inspiration here. The important part when planning for a refurbishment, a newbuildt, or an extension is to seek the atmosphere you want to create. From the views above you can tell it`s an old cottage where nothing should really look new and bright, but beautifully aged with the stories kept. Photos, when grouping them together is often how a scheme or ideas come true.

Stay tuned,
